The “undocumented features” (ahem) listed below are easy to fix. A report of any such events when you are using the software or accessing the User Guide would be much
appreciated.
Things to look out for when proof reading:-
Things to look out for when using Bank Genie:-
A Screenshot links to a .snag file When you click a User Guide screenshot
link, the browser attempts to download a file. Referring to this screenshot If you find anything like this that has slipped through the net,
please send me a report as requested in the help in the screenshot example.
More Info:
- All Screenshots should be .gif files (perhaps one or two .jpg files). I use a program called Snagit to edit and then add help balloons to the screenshots to produce .snag (Snagit
format files). The Snagit is my Master copy. I then use Snagit to save as a gif file. In writing help I may accidentally link to the snag version of a screenshot. When such a link
is clicked the browser can’t handle it properly. Hopefully I have caught them all in my own proof reading after publication. If you find one, please send us a report
Balloons appearing in back screens Screenshot Conditions:-
- when Window Shading is checked in Preferences
- when Show Help Balloons are checked in each screen
When you start a program the initial screen appears. Lets call it Screen A. When you click on a button or double click in a list, another sub screen may open - Screen B. These screens
are said to cascade. Screen A will be partially obscured with Window Shading , so that Screen B stands out prominently. In the conditions described above, Help Balloons should appear
for Screen B only. When you pass your mouse over the underlying Screen A, its help balloons should be inactive. If you find any instances where this is not the case - as shown in this screenshot (now fixed) please email with the underlying Screen name.
