About the items shown in the list
The listing of items
are presented in 2 sections.
- The Preferred Options section
These are shown at the top of the listing.
- The Found in previously added transactions section
The items listed in the Preferred Options section
These are abbreviated values for PaidTo which you have defined manually.
When you edit the PaidTo and Category values in screen BS412S02 and click the Apply
button, the edited text and the Category you select is saved in a file record for future use.
This screen allows you to view the entries you have
made.
You may create more than one entry for a value of PaidTo, each with different Categories.
e.g.
PaidTo=Tesco, Category: Groceries
If you have
lunch while at Tesco, you may wish to add:
PaidTo=Tesco, Category: Dining Out
When editing a transaction in BS412S02, This feature allow you to visit
this screen and choose one of your Preferred Options used previously
Found in previously added transactions section
The items listed in this section have been found in transactions in
your historic data.
- Most recently used text/category combinations are shown at the top of the list
- Bank Genie searches your existing data for matches
- Items listed in the Preferred Options section are not repeated in this section
- You cannot use the Set as Main button or the Remove button on these items
The Set as Main button
In the example above where you have created two Preferred Options
PaidTo=Tesco, Category:
Groceries
PaidTo=Tesco, Category: Dining Out
you would click on the Option wich applies to most of your transactions in the download statement and click the
Set as Main
button
When autocoding the downloaded statements, Bank Genie will assign all Tesco entries to the option you have defined as Main.
The Remove button
This feature allows you to
delete mistakes made when editing and saving PaidTo/Category entties in BS412S02.
