3. Date Protection Range implications

Transaction TR3001
Use the program My Accounts - BS403 to apply a
Date Range Protection in Bank A to 15 Jan 2010

Date Range Protection in Bank A
Adding a Transfer inside Protected Date Range
 

 

  • Start BS421
  • In screen BS421S01, click Add Debits
  • In screen BS421S03 enter:
    Transaction Ref: TR3003
    Transaction Date= 10 Jan 2010
    Transaction Amount= 70
  • Transfer 70 from Bank A to Bank B

    Note that this transaction will violate the Date Range Protection in Bank A
     

Case A: Password Protection OFF
Add will not be permitted when Bank Date in A is inside the Date Protection Range.

With Password Protection ON:
Case B - User does NOT have permission to Override
Add will not be permitted when Bank Date in A is inside the Date Protection Range

Case C - User has permission to Override:
Option offered - Override Yes/No?
Add will be allowed if user clicks Yes
 

 

Transaction TR3003
Use the program My Accounts - BS403 to apply a
Date Range Protection in Bank B to 15 Feb 2010

Adding a Transfer inside Protected Date Range
 

 

  • Start BS421
  • View transactions in Bank A
  • click Add Debits
  • In screen BS421S03 enter:
    Transaction Ref: TR3003
    Transaction Date= 22 Jan 2010
    Transaction Amount= 70
  • Transfer 70 from Bank A to Bank B

Note that this transaction will violate the Date Range Protection in Bank B

Case A: Password Protection OFF
Add will not be permitted when Bank Date in B is inside the Date Protection Range.

With Password Protection ON:
Case B - User does NOT have permission to Override
Add will not be permitted when Bank Date in B is inside the Date Protection Range

Case C - User has permission to Override:
Option offered - Override Yes/No?
Add will be allowed if user clicks Yes
 

 

Transaction TR3010

Date Range Protection
Changing date from INSIDE to OUTSIDE Date Protection
Bank A

 

  • Remove date protection in A if necessary
  • Start BS421
  • View transactions in Bank A
  • click Add Debits
  • In BS421S01 enter:
    Transaction Ref: TR3010
    Transaction Date= 22 Jan 10
    Bank Date 24th Jan 10
    Transaction Amount= 70
  • Transfer 70 to Bank B
  • Add this transaction

Now set Date protection in Bank A as follows

  • Start BS403
  • Edit Bank A profile
  • Set Protect to this date to 30th Jan 10

Note that this moves the above transaction into the Protected Date Range

Try this:

  • Edit TR3010
  • Change transaction date to 10th Feb 10
  • Change Bank Date to 11th Feb 10
  • Click the Save Changes button

Case A: Password Protection OFF
Change will not be permitted

With Password Protection ON:
Case B - User does NOT have permission to Override
Change will not be permitted

Case C - User has permission to Override:
Option offered - Override Yes/No?
Change will be allowed if user clicks Yes

 

Transaction TR3020

Bank A

 

  • Remove date protection in A if necessary
  • Start BS421
  • View transactions in Bank A
  • click Add Debits
  • In BS421S01 enter:
    Transaction Ref: TR3020
    Transaction Date= 22 Jan 2010
    Bank Date= 24th Jan 2010
    Transaction Amount= 70
  • Transfer 70 to Bank B
  • Click Add button

Now set Date protection in Bank A as follows

  • Start BS403
  • Edit Bank A profile
  • Set Protect to this date to 15th Jan 2010

Note that the above transaction is outside the Protected Date Range
 

Try this:

  • Edit TR3020
  • Change transaction date to 3rd Jan 10
  • Change Bank Date to 5th Jan 10
  • Click the Save Changes button

Case A: Password Protection OFF
Change will not be permitted

With Password Protection ON:
Case B - User does NOT have permission to Override
Change will not be permitted

Case C - User has permission to Override:
Option offered - Override Yes/No?
Change will be allowed if user clicks Yes

 

Transaction TR3030

    Transaction Date= 22 Jan 2010
    Bank Date= 24th Jan 2010
    Transaction Amount= 70
    Transfer 70 to Bank B
  • Click Add button

Now set Date protection in Bank B as follows

  • Start BS403
  • Edit Bank A profile
  • Set Protect to this date to 30th Jan 2010
  • Edit TR3060
  • In BS421S03, click the Delete button

Case A: Password Protection OFF
Delete will not be permitted

With Password Protection ON:
Case B - User does NOT have permission to Override
Delete will not be permitted

Case C - User has permission to Override:
Option offered - Override Yes/No?
Delete will be allowed if user clicks Yes

 

 

Date Range Protection
Deleting a transfer - Bank B date protected

 

  • Remove date protection in A if necessary
  • Remove date protection in B if necessary
  • Start BS421
  • View transactions in Bank A
  • click Add Debits
  • In BS421S01 enter:
    Transaction Ref: TR3080
    Transaction Date= 22 Jan 2010
    Bank Date= 24th Jan 2010
    Transaction Amount= 70
    Transfer 70 to Bank B
  • Click Add button

Now set Date protection in Bank B as follows

  • Start BS403
  • Edit Bank B profile
  • Set Protect to this date to 30th Jan 2010
  • Edit TR3080
  • In BS421S03, click the Delete button

Case A: Password Protection OFF
Delete will not be permitted

With Password Protection ON:
Case B - User does NOT have permission to Override
Delete will not be permitted

Case C - User has permission to Override:
Option offered - Override Yes/No?
