About User Names and Security Names When you install and start Bank Genie
for the first time, you are the owner of the system. There is only one User Profile (yours). There is only one Security Name. Password Security is
disabled.
User Names are related to Preferences.
To begin, you have the option to pick a preferred font and font size. If you wish, you can add additional User Profiles for other members of your family, and each User can have their own name and set their own preferences. Passwords are not required for User Names. When a second or more User Profiles are created a prompt screen will appear on startup to allow a user to select their own User Name from a list and use the system with their own personal settings.
Security Names are related to data security and data protection from unauthorised users. They are entirely
unrelated to User Names. The person who installs and uses Bank Genie for the first time becomes the owner/administrator of the system. The initial security
name for the administrator is admin. A password is NOT required on startup until Password Protection is set ON. The administrator can add additional Security
Names. In doing so, the administrator can:
- allow or deny access to selected accounts by Security Name
- allow or deny Read, Write and Transfer permissions by Security Name
